By far the easiest "boss fight game" I've played yet. Got all the achievements in about 30 min. Nice work, though: this was an enjoyable game, despite it being short and a tad on the easy side.

............ Time for this review to me marked as a useless review!
This game was clearly thrown together at the last minute, and wasn't fun. That's really all I can say....

This is a pretty nice looking game, but I'm finding quit a bit wrong with this game.....
Cons:
- The A.I. of your towers. It's hard to explain in coherent words, but basically, the way that your towers track the enemy is not good at all. Example: I saw one of my towers shoot at a baddie for a bit, and then whenever the said baddie got within a foot from it, the tower would switch targets to another target (the farthest baddie from him, in fact.) This isn't too bad during the earlier levels, but when you get to the later ones.... Yeah. As a general rule, priority should be given to the baddie that's closer to your base, not the one that's farthest in your towers' range.
- With only 6 towers to pick from, and no diverging upgrades of any sort, I quickly grew bored. More content is definitely needed here.
- The music gets annoying quickly. Fortunately, there exists a button on my keyboard called the MUTE key....
- Enemy variety is as limited as the tower selection, and you can't tell one Normal wave from the next, exc. Variety, variety, wherefore art thou, variety?
Pros:
- The game looks nice.
- The idea was quirky, but fun.
In conclusion, this is a fun little game that quickly becomes not-so-fun when its lack of customization, annoying music, and bad Tower A.I. start to interfere. Better luck next time, guys.

1:42. but that's because I'd played this game on AfroNinja's site. Originally, it was about 14:01, because I got stuck on the bathtub part and had to look at the walkthrough.
*SPOILER ALERT!*
Boy, that bathroom has terrible wiring! What kind of idiot electrician would wire a room like that? And couldn't you just walk through the lasers anyway? They are just light, after all. Unless this is the future, and they actually have lasers that an hurt someone.... Hmm...
*END SPOILERS!*
Anyway, I love your escape games, AfroNinja! Keep 'em coming!

To be completely honest, this game feels.... amateur.
Pros:
- Nice touch with the hand drawn graphics. Aside from Bowser (he looked kinda cheesy in my opinion,) everything was well drawn.
- You gave us more variety than the first Mario Combat with the SSB mechanics.
Cons:
- Unfortunately, this game felt rather unoriginal. I like the idea of a "harsher" mario world, but I feel like the implementation of said idea was sketchy.
- The game was too short, and frankly didn't have enough to keep me entertained for very long.
- I didn't really notice any differences between the special, charged, and basic attacks, aside from the charge time.
- You can pretty much avoid all the enemies to get to the final boss, which really takes away from the point of the game.
- The last boss isn't all that hot (no pun intended.) I found myself defeating him with no problem by simply standing next to him the entire time and mashing the basic attack button, then running away from his stomp attack, then standing close to him, exc. exc....
This game really didn't do it for me, unfortunately. Better luck next time!

I can tell that you put a lot of effort into this one. Really, all of my complaints are nit-picky. But, I'll get to that in a second.
Pros:
- The action commands (Timed Hits, whatever you call it) were well done and quite accurate.
- The way the story at the beginning was portrayed was spot on.
- Although the game's actual storyline wasn't all that interesting (I'm not complaining about that at all, naturally: this chapter's purpose really was to orient us to the game,) the dialogue between X and the training program guy was pretty good.
- The music is good.
- Boss Rush Mode is a nice touch (albeit, I haven't gotten all the way through it as of now.)
Cons:
- The beginning story was still a tad long for my tastes. If it hadn't been so interesting, I'd have dozed off in the middle of it.
- The graphics were O.K., but there's room for improvement in that area. Perhaps smoother looking sprites?
- The animation of the game was kinda clunky (especially the jumping animation,) but it didn't really interfere with the game. I know how hard animation is, trust me.... -_-'
- The active combat needs to be touched up a tad. I attempted to use a timed hit in response to an enemy attack, and instead of doing that, my character's battle menu popped up, and the timed hit never went through.
This is a solid first addition to what could be a truly epic series. Take your time and make Chapter 1 the best it can be.... But don't take TOO long.... ;)

Aw, that was lame.... It quit out right at the second boss fight!
From what I played, this game is probably one of the best beat-em-ups I've found so far on this site.
Pros:
- Blood and violence was realistic, enemies exploding were not (although they WERE enjoyable)
- Difficulty was decent, not too challenging, but it still kept you on your toes
- Tactics can actually be used in the game! Yes, it is better to take the high ground! Yes, it is a good idea to attack enemies when they are still in the air! Yes, enemies can actually use the environment to their advantage, just as much as you can!
- Atmosphere was pretty creepy and very dark, fitting the style well.
Cons:
- There's no blocking option. What kind of viking warrior wouldn't know how to block avoid their enemy's attacks?
- Jumping really shouldn't take as long as it does. While in the air, you're completely vulnerable, which is realistic, but what's NOT realistic is when the enemy remains the same speed while you slow down in the air.
- You can't walk with barrels. Isn't this guy some super-strong, powerful viking warrior? He'd be able to do that, easy! (Speaking of, where does his sword go when he lifts a barrel.... ^_^)
- The game cut out on me when I was fighting the second guy! You could have at least let us finish him off.... *grumble grumble*
Improvements (For the Final Version):
- Add more enemy types. As of now, there is four enemy types, not including the bosses. I'd have at least seven, if not more. Say, add axe throwers that can also attack melee, maybe guys on horseback (or boarback, or monsterback, you get the idea.) Stuff like that.
- The barrels and pits are nice environmental hazards. Create more stuff like that, like rock traps on ledges, for instance.
- Upgrade system? Nah, probably not for this game. But, you should add stuff like health and attack increasing items.
This game is a great way to get my aggressions out. I';ll be looking forward to the complete version, for sure.

FPAW2 Deserved that win, in my opinion. The game's downright amazing, and its physics engine is one of the best I've seen.
However, I don't agree with the video of the year. I (like many others) think that the There She is! series should have won. But congrats anyway to the guy who did win!
There were a lot of amazing submissions this year.... I wonder what'll pop up next year?....

Dang, man.... You have WAAAAAAAAY too much time on your hands....
That was actually some of the best animation I've seen on Newgrounds thus far. And honestly, that was downright funny. Keep it up!

..................... whAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAT?!
No, really. Explain yourself. You owe it to us now. Is there some sort of deep, philosophical point to all of that? Were you drunk and/or high when you made this flash? Do you have a mental disorder? Did you recently suffer an inexplicable attack of genius syndrome, and the concept behind this flash is so complex, the likes of us lesser minded people could never hope to grasp it? Why?
I'm not quite sure how to rate this, so I'll give it average marks....
